Puff Pastry Bunnies

Happy Easter from our kitchen to yours!

These delicious puff pastry Easter bunnies come together so quickly and are a fun baking activity for little ones!

We had so much fun baking these together this morning and Z really wanted to share them with everybody!

Prep: 10 mins

Cook: 20 mins

Serves: 4 

What do you need?

1 sheet  of puff pastry

1 tbsp of melted butter

1 heaped tsp cinnamon

2 tbsps coconut sugar

2 tbsps milk

For the frosting:

3 tbsps cream cheese

1 tsp maple syrup

Then...

  1. Preheat your oven to 200 degrees Celsius and line a baking tray.
  2. Cut the puff pastry sheet in half.
  3. Brush one half with 1 tbsp of melted butter. Leaving about 1 cm on each vertical edge.
  4. Sprinkle over the cinnamon and coconut sugar.
  5. Brush the other half of the pastry with the remaining butter and place butter side down, over the sheet with the cinnamon sugar.
  6. Use a fork to crimp the vertical edges.
  7. Using a pizza cutter or knife, cut the pastry into 1 cm strips.
  8. Shape each strip into a bunny. 
  9. Brush the bunnies with milk.
  10. Bake for 20 minutes until golden.
  11. In a bowl combine the cream cheese and maple syrup to create a frosting.
  12. Once the bunnies are cool, pipe the frosting into their bottoms!
  13. Serve and enjoy!
