Sick Toddler Turmeric Milk

TURMERIC MILK

This recipe is from my eBook, Authentic Indian Food and my “go to” when anyone in the family isn’t feeling well! Turmeric Milk (traditionally known as haldi doodh) is an ancient Ayurvedic drink that's known for it's anti-inflammatory properties. It is a delicious, comforting and nourishing drink.

The pinch of pepper in this is important as enhances the body’s absorption of Curcumin from the turmeric. Curcumin has strong anti inflammatory and antioxidant properties.

NOTE: NO HONEY FOR UNDER 1’s.

What do you need?

1 cup milk of choice 
1 tsp turmeric powder
1/2 tsp Ceylon cinnamon
A pinch of black pepper
1 tsp coconut oil (optional) 
1 tsp honey (no honey for under 1’s) (or substitute maple syrup for vegan alternative)

Then
Add everything (except the honey) to a pan and gently simmer - do not bring to the boil!

Stir in the honey and serve warm.
