Hydrating Smoothie

Hydrating Smoothie

This smoothie is super refreshing and hydrating, making it perfect for those sick days. Strawberries and watermelon have a high water content and are therefore a fantastic way to help sick toddlers “eat water” and amp up fluid intake.

I’ve also added honey for its antibacterial properties and antimicrobial compounds to suppress coughs and boost the immune system. 🍯 Note: no honey for under 1’s. 🍯

Lemon & strawberries are loaded with vitamin C to fight colds and kefir contains plenty of good for your gut bacteria to naturally support the immune system.

Prep: 5 mins

Cook: 0 mins

Serves: 2 smoothies

Suitable: 12 months + (see note for modifications for under 1’s)

What do you need?

1 cup chopped watermelon

1 cup chopped strawberries

1 tbsp honey * see note

Juice from 1/2 lemon

1 cup Kefir

Note: No honey for under 1’s. You can omit as the fruit adds natural sweetness.

Then...

  1. Add all of the ingredients to a blender and whizz until smooth.
  2. Serve and enjoy!
