Banana French Toast

This no added sugar French toast is so simple and easy. It comes together in minutes and ripe bananas and cinnamon add natural sweetness to this. 

Serve it up for breakfast or a snack! It is loaded with protein, healthy fats, flavour and is so nutritious!

It is easy to make, healthy and comes together in minutes. 

The bread stays really soft but holds its shape really well which makes this perfect for even the tiniest of hands!

Serve alongside some fresh fruit or yoghurt.

Prep: 5 mins

Cook: 10 mins  

Serves: 1 adult & 1 toddler 

Suitable From: 6 months +

 

What do you need?

1 ripe banana

1 egg

1 tsp cinnamon

3 slices bread (I use whatever I have on hand!)

Butter or coconut oil for frying

Optional:

1 tbsp desiccated coconut 

1/2 tsp ginger powder 

1/2 tap nutmeg

Then....

  1. Mash the banana until fairly smooth and then crack the egg and whisk in.
  2. Add the cinnamon and whisk until combined.
  3. Place the bread into the eggy mixture and ensure both sides are well coated. 
  4. Heat a dash of coconut oil in a pan and then cook each side of the bread for a minute or so, until golden brown.
  5. Cut into strips or squares and serve!
