Serving Lentils To Babies & Toddlers

Serving Lentils To Babies & Toddlers

Lentils are a great plant based (non heme) source of iron and so versatile! They make a great addition to your baby (and families) diet and are also high in protein, fibre and a plethora of vitamins and minerals.

Lentils have a long shelf life, are readily available and relatively cheap making them an excellent addition to your pantry.

It’s important to note that when serving non heme sources of iron it’s important  to pair them with a food rich in vitamin C to maximise absorption of the iron. All the recipes here have vitamin C in them so that’s one less thing to worry about!

All of the recipes are suitable for babies and toddlers and make great family meals. I’ve included some that can be batch cooked and frozen for another meal.
