Pumpkin Pie Oatmeal
My little guy is a huge fan of pumpkin so it’s been pumpkin spiced everything around here recently! This creamy and delicious oatmeal bowl is packed with warming spices, fibre and slow release carbohydrates; perfect for fuelling busy mornings and get everyone through to snack time!
This oatmeal bowl comes together in just a few minutes and you double up the batch for breakfast later in the week! Just add a little more milk when reheating!

Serves: 1 adult & 1 toddler
Suitable From: 6 months +
What do you need?
1 tbsp grass fed butter
½ cup oats
1 cup milk
¼ cup pumpkin puree
1 tsp cinnamon
¼ tsp nutmeg
½ tsp ginger
½ tsp all spice
1 tbsp flaxseed
Toppings:
A small handful of finely chopped pecan nuts * see note
1 tbsp chia seeds
Then....
- In a pan, melt the butter and toast the oats for a couple of minutes.
- Then add in the pumpkin purée and cook for another minute.Add in the remaining ingredients and cook for 5 minutes stirring until thick and creamy.
- Serve topped with pecans, chia seeds and more milk!
Note:
If serving to children under 4 ensures the pecans are ground down.
Allergy Swap:
Substitute grass fed butter for coconut oil and use plant based milk.
